Giftsets 1962-1965 cardboard boxes
From 1962 onwards the giftsets were packed in large cardboard boxes with colour illustrations of the models ( "D" tyy boxes ) and from 1963 on with fantastic background illustrations ( "E" type boxes ) which are the most attractive illustrations ever made for toys, todays designers should be ashamed of what Lesney did in the 60's! At that time Lesney started to put additional accessories in the sets to enhance the play value of sets like the large "Motorway" and "Race Track" set which makes these sets rare and expensive when still found today complete with all these additional accessories.

One of the rarest Giftsets from the 1-75 series, the G-10 from 1963 in "BP" livery, only produced for about 6 months. Contains the MG-1B "BP" Service Station ( excellent condition ), the A-1 "ESSO" Pumps & Sign in the correct "D" box and the models 13C Thames Wreck Truck ( near mint model & D box, 25V VW 1200 ( mint model, excellent box ) and 31B Ford Station Wagon ( near mint model and "D"Box ). The Station box itself is excellent too, all flaps firmly attached, no tape or grafitti but shows signs of wear. A great rarity in excellent, complete condition. All models are the correct variations and boxes for this set. This is in my opinion the rarest Gifsets from the 60's. |

Attractive 1964 Fire Station Set containing the MF-1 Fire Station with red roof which is near mint. The set contains the models 2 x 9C Merryweather Fire Engine ( red, black wheels, gold ladder ), 14C Lomas Ambulance ( white, black wheels ) and 59B Ford Fairlane Fire Chief Car ( red, black wheels ). The models are all in condition 9.5 - near mint - in excellent to near mint "D" boxes. The Gift set box is excellent+, all flaps firmly attached, no tape, crisp, bright colours. Fantastic set in this condition. |
