Boxtyp "B" 1954 - 61

Boxtyp "B" 1954 - 61

In 1954 the "MOKO" logo on the front was changed from script to block capitals to match the rest of the "A MOKO Lesney" banner underneath the models picture. This is now called the "B" box which has five subtypes, all are differ by the different printing to the side flaps only wich was increased over the years.

Please note: several models exist with "B" boxes showing different illustrations of the same model ( larger size, different angle, with or without lettering showing the models livery...), these are not considered box subtypes.

B1 1954 - 55

The earliest "B" boxes are having plain dark blue side flaps without any added printing, similiar to the "A" boxes.

B2 1955 - 58

B2 1955 - 58

From 1955 onwards the model number was printed in black on the side flaps. Sometimes hard to spot when the box is really dark blue.

This was made to make it possible to tell which model is in the box when these were stacked in a shop display.

B3 1958

To improve the visibility of the model number on the side flaps it was now printed in black in a white circle.

This short lived boxtyp was used less then a year and has produced several hard to find variations.

B4 1959 - 60

In 1959 the legibility was improved again by now printing the models name in black in a white rectangle above the number.

B5 1959 - 61

The last version of the "B" box used from 1959 to 1961, the models name is now printed in white block capitals above the number, the white rectangle was removed.
