In the late 50's the german company "Eheim" started producing an VW-Draisine based on the Matchbox No.34A VW Van body. They used the original body casting ( most likely delivered from Lesney ) and painted it in maroon, added windows, front signal lights, extra labels and of course the electrical engine. When Lesney replaced the No.34A model with the newer 34B VW Caravatte Eheim bought the mould's. In 1963 Eheim sold it toy product line to BRAWA including the VW mould, BRAWA modified it slightly by removing the front "VW" emblem - which was always covered by "DB" labels - and the upper side vents at the rear. The model was produced with this modified casting well into the 70's.
