Something that is really a one of a kind: the surviving prototype for the never released large "Showmans Engine" for the Major Scale series in the early 50's. Only the large MF Tractor was released in this series, the large Dumper Truck was ready for production and this large Showmans Engine was in the later stage of development when the series was cancelled.

Very large wooden model, 21 cms long, 12 cms high! Wheels and steering wheel are already casted in metal so these moulds were ready. The comparision with the later issued Yesteryear model shows how large ( and heavy! ) this model would have been. You also get 4 large rear wheels, 2 smaller front wheels, 9 long roof supports, 7 smaller roof supports, 1 steering wheel and 4 front lights, all are made from metal. Plus one really large metal roof, 22 cms long. For all these parts the moulds were obvioulsly already production ready showing that this model was in advanced developed mode. You also get all the remaining paperwork for this project ( parts lists, paper cut-outs for other parts, lots of b&w photographs and three very large original drawings of the original "Fowler B6 Big Lion Road Locomotive" ). That is everything that was kept by one former Lesney employee working on this model in the 50's. This model was pictured in the "The First 40 Years" book and is the only existing example - a true piece of Lesney history.
